The trail crosses the Serra do Sincorá, offering incredible panoramic views. Cachoeira da Fumaça, with a drop of around 360 meters, can vary greatly in water flow depending on recent rainfall.

Riachinho Waterfall

On the way back, we stop at Cachoeira do Riachinho for a swim. Access is easy, with only about a 10-minute walk.

What to bring

Vale do Capão

Surrounded by the mountains of Chapada Diamantina, Vale do Capão is known for its well-preserved natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere. It is also the starting point for some of the region’s most famous trails, including Cachoeira da Fumaça.

Fumaça Waterfall

One of Brazil’s most impressive waterfalls, famous for its dramatic drop and panoramic views from the top of the mountain. Its name comes from the way the falling water is blown by the wind, creating a mist that looks like “smoke.”

Riachinho Waterfall

A waterfall approximately **15 meters high**, located near Vale do Capão and surrounded by rock formations and vegetation. With relatively easy access, it’s a great place to swim and relax after the hike.
